Greetings to all! Thank you all for you of your thoughts and prayers, Ali and I continue to lean into them, sometime in minutes, hours, morning, afternoon, nights or whole days we lean into them harder. I am back at the hotel for the night, my mind is mentally exhausted and my body is struggling this evening. I type this message as a group of people gather in the center of our hometown of Rayne, Louisiana to pray for our family as we walk this unknown path. If you went tonight to the rosary or prayed a rosary at home, at school, in your car, on a plane, train, a bus, well you get the picutre, We thank you and I know for me I am leaning HARD into them tonight! I truly feel like Ali and I make a good team, beacause whenever she is falling apart I have the strength and whenever I am falling apart, she sends me back to the hotel, wait a minute! Totally kidding, God, really seems to balance us out in terms of breakdowns and strong moments. Again last night we had an unexpected visitor, another disciple, showed up, RANDOMLY! We were sitting in the section of the waiting room that we always sit and I saw a gentleman and a young lady walk in, they kinda meandered around and then left. I found it a little odd, the ICU waiting room is not typically somewhere where people just kinda stumble in and then leave. A while later the "Black Phone" rang, I walked over, answered it, and the receptionist said, Mr. Cantrell, there is a man here who would like to go upstairs and pray with Cate, I said, I don't think so, hold him RIGHT THERE, I'll be there in a minute. I walked toward the front desk and saw a man sitting on the couch, he stood up and said, Mr. Cantrell? I said Yes, He introduced himself and we sat down. He began to tell me the story of how he had gotten there that night. A gentleman from Louisiana had called him, and told him that he had to go check this Blog out online, that there was this Baby girl that really needed prayer. So, the man told his friend who had called, let's pray right now, so they prayed then. Well, yesterday morning, the man from Louisiana called again, asking if this guy had gotten a chance to go online and look at the blog, to which the gentleman replied, no my internet is still down. He said, then then Holy Spirit told him that he need to go and pray with this little girl or her family. So, he found out that we were at Texas Children's, got in his car and drove all the way from Victoria, TX, which is two hours from Houston! He did not have our last name, what floor cate was on, he just drove. He made his way to the waiting room we were in somehow and then receptionist wouldn't give him any information, so he made is way up to the ICU and sat outside the doors and prayed for Cate, and prayed, for while. Then he came back to the receptionist told her his story and that is when she called me. I told him that we could not go up to Cate's room because her chest was still open and we were only letting grandparents and Ali's sisters in there for sanitary reasons, but I said you can pray with me. So, we bowed our heads and we prayed together, He prayed, I prayed, we said AMEN. He then got up gave me a hug and his card with his contact information, and left to go back to Victoria. Amazing how God works!!! Yesterdya afternoon I decided to put a counter on Cate's blog, because Ali and I have been very overwhelmed by the amount of comments and emails we were getting from all over the country and around the world. So, at about 4:00pm yesterday I put a counter, that counts how many times this page is viewed, as of 9:00pm tonight there was over 8,000 hits on this blog, UNBELIEVABLE! I told Baby Cate about all of you all this afternoon, she was SPEECHLESS, literally. Two, funny stories for yall, There has been a couple that we have seen around the waiting room for the past few days, there little boy just had his second heart surgery and still has to have one more. Ali got to talking with the Mom last night and mentioned that we had a blog, the mom said, "Baby Cate's, I know I have been reading it, everyday" and then Cate had a new medical personel in her room tonight that we hadn't met before, I said, Hi, my name is Charlie, I'm Cate's dad, He said, Hi, my name is so and so, I have been reading your blog. I was like WHAT! I mean I didn't say that out loud, but I was like here are two people in twenty-four hours that I have NEVER laid eyes on in my life, that are reading my daughters Blog. Cate's reach, her heart, and what she is doing for the power of God are unbelievable, I am so proud to be her daddy, my little evangelist! Ok, this is what i want to leave you with tonight to pray for us. First, i want you to pray for Baby Cate, that her lungs dry out, that her valve stop leaking, and that whatever bacteria has developed in her kidneys just be due to the cathader(sp?). Also that if they do the operation tomorrow that it be SUCESSFUL, it would start around 8:00, I will let you know. Second, I ask that you pray for Ali and I, this afternoon, I will be real honest, after I heard that she had bacteria growing in her kidneys, I felt like I got kicked in the chest, actually, you know what it felt like? Do you remember your first love? Do you remember what it felt like when that person dumped you, well, maybe some of you cool people out there never got dumped, I was chubby in high school, and that hasn't changed much, and had a really bad hair cut, so I experienced these feelings first hand. So, let me put it to you another way if you haven't every been dumped, Do you remember the first time you got your heart broken? There was that pain in your chest, that physical hurt! I felt like tonight, like my heart was breaking physically. I sat in the Target parking lot with Ali, and cried, I told her that, I can't imagine going home without Cate. But, I am am tired of hoping, I didn't say I was hopeless or that I am giving up hope, I said I am tired of hoping. This morning friends of ours brought us communion at the hospital. I asked if they had brought there magnificat book with them, figuring they had, knowing the "good catholics" they were. They had, so I asked if we could read the readings and pray before receiving communion. There was a little meditation in the book after the reading and it was entitled, "Do Not Be Afraid" and this was the last paragraph of the meditation:
It seems to me this is what courage of faith is: it comes from the Lord himself, when we welcome his Word and his sacraments as our light and our truth. It is at the same time audacious and humble, wholly concrete in its works and spiritual in its source, profoundly human, sensible and sweet, and yet resistant and hard as rock.
Lord, BE Ali and I's hope, We seek your sacraments often and have even kicked it up a notch because we feel like we need them even more right now. We are audacious enough to beg you to spare our daughter's life and if necessary to change Your mind if we have to, but we are humble enough to accept whatever befalls us with grace and hope. We have seen hope concrete in the friends who are dedicated to prayer and the random strangers who have showed up to pray with us. We have also seen hope spiritually, where you have spoken to the quiet of our hearts and made us aware of the spiritual battle that rages on. It is as sensible and sweet as our little girl who lay in that bed, waiting on Your healing. And it is resistant and hard as rock and the determination of her Mama and Daddy and the meriad of people who stand with us in your hope for your immediate healing of our Baby Cate.
We love you Lord, BE OUR HOPE! Amen

You don't know me but I'm continuing to pray and hope for your precious Baby Cate and fully expect a miracle!

Charlie and Ali,
I did pray a rosary in the car today and as I fold clothes or pick weeds, I continue to pray a litany of Hail Mary's. I believe with all my heart that Our Lady is holding your/"our" baby in her arms and caring for her in a most Divine way. I have been relentless in requesting others, sometimes strangers, to pray for Cate. Know that your family is loved beyond what words can describe. I pray that you, too, can rest in Mary's arms tonight. God Bless you, Mrs. Robin Hebert
The evening of Cate's first surgery a week ago Friday, we were visiting friends whose son was in CVICU. I remember the door out of the Ronald McDonald area gave you some challenges, but you seemed to be handling the pressure regardless. Just know that your Baptist brothers and sisters in Christ are praying for baby Cate, and the rest of your family.
Charlie & Ali,
I know I'm not a guy (that's a good thing that I know that, right?), so I can't quote Braveheart quite like the guys do. But I want you guys to know that we're doing battle for little Cate. She is constantly on our hearts and minds. We are so motivated to continue this fight. Your words of hope - or requests of hope - fill our souls and provide us sustenance for the battle.
While Christ has already won the earthy battle for us, we fight for your little girl. We pray her heart is softened, her lungs made clean, her body restored. We continue to offer her up continuously throughout our days. We...along with so many others.
We do not tire. Take peace in that. We are here to serve you. And we are proud to call you friends.
We love you.
Courtney & Jeremy (who can quote William)
Il papa has our prayer requests as well. We hope you received the water from Lourdes.
You do not know me but I have been reading your blog by way of John Ray Perkins' site. My husband and I have a 13 year old as well as a 5 month old daughter. I can only imagine what you are going through right now. I lifted your family up in my mass this morning. Baby Cate is a miracle from God and He will protect her. God bless you all.
Greer Family, Carencro
I just wanted to let you all know, if you don't know already, that myself and 2,000 other high school teens were praying for Cate last night at Steubenville...I'll continue praying for the best!
Charlie and Ali,
We continue to pray for Cate and your family, as do many of our friends. Hang on to God, your witness is amazing and blessing many.
Cantrell cousin,
Melissa Smith

Charlie & Ali,
Like so many others we have been thinking and praying for Baby Cate and since we found out about your blog. Also called upon some experienced prayer warriors too... praying that God takes this opportunity, when things are really difficult, to work His miracles - if it be His will.
In addition to your extreme witness to perseverance and faith in God - you have reminded us that every MOMENT is a GIFT and I am trying to truly cherish each little gift with our own little girl. I hope everyone else remembers to do the same too.
We will continue to keep reading and praying...
United in Christ,
Laura, Mike & Mary Grace Seibert
I have just come from the rosary at the depot and it was amazing. I could feel the power of prayer in the air. This is the miracle. People praying all over the country for this precious little baby. This is the miracle. Getting people to go back to church after a long hiatus, praying the rosary with family and friends, praying for a miracle. You are an inspiration to millions of people all over the world now. Don't ever give up hope. You are creating miracles everyday by simply writing on this blog asking for prayers. We don't know God's plans for Cate, but we do know she is being prayed for everyday. That is a miracle. Keep up your strength, cry as much as you need, and keep the faith. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and my family. We will continue to pray for your family. Rachel, John, Brittany and Ashley.
Charlie and Ali,
Moma and I were at the rosary tonight, it was beautiful, just like the words that you write here on this blog. We continue to pray for you and Ali, for your HOPE and for Cate to recover quickly.
Sheilah & Mrs. Mattie
Just came from Rayne Depot with over hundred others praying for Cate! We here for Cate, you and Ali!
By the way, Gerard from Carrabba's is from Victoria Tx. Wonder if he knows the guy you met?
Love you guys-I'm hoping like you wouldn't believe, so if you should sway a little, I've got your back!
Mimi
Hello Ali and Charlie,
I will continue praying for your family and your precious baby Cate. I will pray that tomorrow will be the day that your Cate's heart will be it's strongest, and that the good Lord up above will be watching over her through her procedure. I will pray harder for a miracle for your baby Cate.
Glenda Robichaux
Tears in our eyes we are praying hard for all the Cantrells! Holy Spirit blow into Cate's lung to dry the fluid and guide the medical team tomorrow. We continue to be with you through our prayer – not ceasing. Heavenly Father and Blessed Mother be our rock of faith and hope.
We love you - The St, Thomas More after Mass gang
I was introduced to your blog one week ago and read it everyday. I find myself worried if I open it and you haven't posted yet! I think about your family everyday as I am a mother of three. I get that "heartache" feeling that you talked about when I think of the obstacles you guys have faced. You've opened my eyes and my heart with your words. I'm not a very religous person but I do attend church. I married someone with a strong faith and he has changed my life. The amazing thing about this is, tonight at church we had a lesson on giving and I've never replied to any of your posts but tonight for some reason I was particulary moved by your words and when I clicked on "post a comment", the chase bank information caught my eye. It was a sign. Tomorrow I am going to make a donation to you and your family. God bless you, your family, and especially Beautiful Baby Cate!
Our Prayers are you Cate and the family.
God Bless,
Olivares Family
Corpus Christi, TX
At Mass this eveing Father spoke about a baby intuitively knowing it is in its daddy's arms, knowing their dad's special scent, feeling safe in his arms no matter what chaos or calamity befalls the world....so are we as christians {spiritual babes in the arms of our heavenly Father} He goes before us always...the prayer service was an awesome testimony to Cate and her family.....really beautiful and so much heartfelt prayer...never doubt that we are here storming heaven for her!!! Lila Lambert
Charlie and Ali- Just wanted to let you both know that Mike and I are still thinking of you and Baby Cate and praying all throughout the day. Your post on awareness couldn't have come at a better time. That same day I was starting to get angry that Baby Cate wasn't better yet - angry at God? Yeah, I think so. The the next morning when I woke up, checked the blog and read your post... You were right on! I was letting someone steal my hope (and my trust) in God. I wasn't going to let that happen. Now I am back on track and even more HOPEFUL then before. We love you baby Cate!! & We are in it to win it!
Much love,
Anna and Mike
Charlie & Ali,
During Father Russo's homily today at Fatima he said, "Do not be afraid of tomorrow...God is already there." What an amazing confirmation to hear w/ you guys on our hearts...still praying!
Love,
The Dunbar's
Ali & Charlie - we are all still with you praying...and we will not stop. The Lord is your strength! We love you.

I just wanted to let you know that last night at Steubenville we all prayed for Cate during adoration and I want you to know that you are in my prayers and I will try my best to share Cate's story and gain more prayers for her. God bless you and I hope and pray that everything will turn for the best.
With God's love,
Leah
Charlie, don't know if you remember me, but I remember you from Steubenville. I want you and Ali to know that my family and I are praying so hard for you and that sweet, precious little girl. I am so, so sorry that you have been given this cross to bear, and I pray that you both are given peace and strength every minute of the day. And we pray for Cate's little body and spirit. We have 3 of our own and I know how much spirit a 7 month old can have. I will pass you on to all the prayer chains I know.
With love and strong prayer,
Mindy (Evers) Celentano
Ali and Charlie, Tonight was proof of the prayers and dedication that you all have behind you! There was well over 100people at the Depot praying for you guys and Cate! I don't think the Rayne Depot has ever been so popular haha! Charlie, your best friend from John who I remember from years back when I was in Lifeteen (you know when you werent so old hehe jj) anyway he did an absolutely amazing job leading the vigil tonight! Stay strong, tomorrow could bring a miracle and thats exactly what all of us prayed for tonight! Love, Erin Dawson
Charlie & Ali,
I've been praying for you and little Cate often, and passed the website and request for prayers along to my family and classmates as well. Your family is an inspiration and role model to so many people - - thank you for sharing your life with us.
Sincerely,
Aimee (Jenny's old roommate... and a fellow survivor of tetralogy of fallot repair)

In a day and age where miracles seem to be more of a fairy tale than a reality, it is so comforting to see God's Work in action right before us. Bless you all, Cantrells. We are continuing to storm the gates of Heaven.
The Melancon and Landaiche families
You don't know me, but i read a prayer request for Baby Cate on John Keller's blog. I have since been following your blog and praying for Cate and your family everyday. I have shared your story and blog with our prayer chain in McAllen, Texas and lots of people are praying for you. I am continuing to pray for complete healing in Cate's little body. My prayers continue.

Philippians 4:6-7
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don't forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.
Charlie and Ali,
We are still praying for you every night. What an angel she is!
Nicky
Charlie and Ali, today Big Ennie and I attended Mass at a little church in Wimberley, Texas. The readings today were so beautiful, full of hope! We even sang one of my favorite Tom Booth songs, remember this one? "Here I am, standing right beside you; here I am, do not be afraid. Here I am, waiting like a Lover, I am here; HERE I AM" I visualized the Lord, angels and saints standing guard at Cate's side, as well as a your side. CHRIST OUR HOPE!
Charlie, Ali and Cate,
We continue our deligent prayers for your family. We love you all! We have included the scripture below that the group Selah wrote a song from, "You Are My Hiding Place."
"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah" Psalm 32:7
Blessings and Prayers,
Chris and Denise Perry from Houston, Texas

Charlie and Ali....just to let you know that we are continuing to lift you all in prayer. We were unable to make the prayer vigil in Rayne tonight but your family and our prayer intentions for you have become part of our daily lives. Please know that we love you all and are continually lifting Cate up in prayer. We are also praying for continued and even "renewed" strength and resilience for both of you. We love you guys.
Jane W
Hi Ali,
It's Mrs. Doucet! You are in my thoughts and prayers. The rosary tonite was amazing. The sky turned a beautiful blue and right above all of us were these white billowing clouds, like the sky opened to receive the prayers. They took the shape of an angel. Could it be Phillip? I think so. I helped you then, he can help you now. Keep singing the rainbow song to Cate, the angels will make the connection and will use their wings to fan her lungs dry! I love you, Mrs. Doucet
Tonight we gathered at the depot square in Rayne to pray for Baby Cate as you know.. It was beautiful and my heart and everyone else's was with you tonight!!
Love, Michelle
Charlie,
I find myself hitting the refresh button on this blog hourly waiting on one of your inspiring updates. While waiting I am thinking this will be the day the blog will show some good news, then the blog would come and I would find myself wiping the tears running down my face thinking not another sad day. Tonight I realized every single update shows some good news, that all these people are praying for Baby Cate, yourself, and your wife. I felt hope fading while reading your blog on Friday then on Saturday during a baptism the Priest said we light this candle as the candle of hope and at that time I thought of Cate and thought there is always a candle of hope when you have God in your life. I will continue to pray for her along with prayers for you, your wife, your other children, and extended family. BTW....I am a friend of Marsha's, Tera Northcutt
Charlie and Ali,
I just wanted you to know that Our Lady herself is praying for your little one. Today while I was at the shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City I lit a candle for your little girl. I prayed that as long as that candle stayed lit that God would repair your little girl. HE is working on her. I know from reading your blog that you already know that but I just wanted to share with you that the love of Our Lady as she was imaged to San Juan Diego is in the heart of little Cate.
Unfortunately, the Duran family will be leaving Mexico tomorrow but I will continue to petition all those that I know in Mexico for prayers for little Cate and her candle remains lit.
Ashley Duran
I am praying hard for all of you! Baby Cate sure is touching the hearts of sooo many people. All 4000 + people at Steubenville South saw her pictures on the big screen as well as heard her story. We prayed hard. During Adoration Saturday night, the Servant Singers played Let Your Love Come Down. I was praying hard that Jesus just pour His perfect love on your sweet little Cate as well as your entire family. I know He heard me and the prayers of everyone and He will do it! Be assured of the prayers of all the teens in my group. I don't know you guys, but I love you! I'm still praying!
Would just like to share with you the devotional reading from June 22in my book titled Bedside Blessings.ONE OF THE GREAT THEMES OF CHRISTIANITY IS TRIUMPHANT HOPE.NOT JUST HOPE AS IN A DISTANT,VAGUE DREAM,BUT TRIUMPHANT HOPE,THE KIND OF HOPE WHERE ALL THINGS END RIGHT.IN THE MIDST OF THE STRUGGLES AND THE STORMS AND THE SUFFERINGS OF LIFE,WE CAN ADVANCE OUR THOUGHTS BEYOND TODAY AND SEE RELIEF...TRIUMPH...VICTORY,BECAUSE IN THE END GOD DOES INDEED WIN.
REJOICING IN HOPE...DEVOTED TO PRAYER. ROMANS 12:12
GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU
BECKY & WAYNE MENARD
we are supporting you through prayer and fasting...we've asked everyone we know to do the same as well as offer up masses in cates name...we too were constantly refreshing the page waiting on the update...we pray that God continue to send people to "hold up your arms" as He did for Moses...and we cling to the promise that God will finish the good work He has started in her!
Blessings and Love,

Hi, you don't know me, but my name is Janie Eldridge. I've been reading your blog and praying for your family. I feel really inspired to share this with you... so here it goes.
I'm from New Iberia, went to UL, and then moved up to DC 3 years ago. I've just finished up a Child Life internship at Georgetown University Hospital. I don't know if you have met any Child Life Specialists in Houston, but what a Child Life Specialist does is try to make the hospital as non-stressful for the kids and families as possible (I know, not always an easy task!) This is done through using "kid-terms" to explain what's going on, medical play, family support, etc.... basically anything to help make the hospitialization experience as "normal" as possible.
So all that is to say that I've been on the pediatric floor for 3 and a half months... I've been with kids and families in the ICU... and I can say first hand that what you spoke of about having HOPE and being a father and a family... and fighting for your daughter... and the power of prayer... THAT is what makes a difference.
I have seen kids get out of the ICU in a matter of hours after their parents made a decision to believe that their child will get better. For instance, a psychologist told the parents to act like nothing was wrong... and see what happened. So they did. The 7 year old boy was in the ICU for over 15 days, and was transfered out of the ICU in less than 5 hours after his parents made the decision to believe.
The kids feel it... and Cate feels it. I got goosebumps when I read about you going in and laughing with the nurses and fighting for her. That is amazing.
So I guess all this is to affirm you and say... keep at it. Keep hoping, keep believing, keep having faith, but most of all... keep loving. And know that there is someone, across the US, praying for Cate and your family.
All the love in my heart,
Janie
"But those who trust in the Lord will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings as eagles; they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not grow weak."
-Isaiah 40:31
I say this to myself in times of struggle, big and small. Though it does not always improve my situation, it NEVER, EVER fails to improve me.
Like many others, I do not know your daughter but, somehow have grown to love her. I find myself asking God each day to give Cate one heartbeat for each person who is praying for her...because she has given each of us so much more than that. She has reminded us all what it means to put someone else's needs above our own, in turn bringing us all alittle closer to who God intended us to be. Amazing that in a week's time she has already known more purpose than many know in a life time.
Praying for your family in Texas.
Wonderful Cantrell Family,
This is the reading from God Calling for today:
Your Red Sea
Go forward fearlessly.
Do not think about the Red Sea that lies ahead.
Be very sure that when you come to it the waters will part and you will pass over to your promised land of freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though we live in Houston, we were in Austin this morning for Mass and the priest's homily spoke so much of your situation - and how we as Christians must have HOPE when faced with ADVERSITY. He even recalled a Peanuts cartoon that essentially shares the fact that adversity builds character - and why we need character: to deal with adversity. I thought of your battle with hope and being attacked by the enemy. I know your hope is there, even when you don't feel it. Even Mother Theresa experience dark nights of the soul. Get your rest tonight. God bless each of you! "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me."
Love, Cathy
God will work a miracle in your mist. Be of open mind and spirit. Let God lead and guide you. He had placed you in this moment so He can work in you like a potter and his clay. Turn to Him. He will be your comfort, strength, and God. He has and will never leave nor forsake you. Place your trust in Him. He knows where Cate is and is right by her side. His servant will be used to bring healing.

De Colores Brother. You know, many parents say they would move heaven and earth for their kids.
You are doing it.
Know that you are doing everything in your power for your daughter. Keep faith in Christ, "our Hope".
Still praying for Cate.
Mr. and Mrs. Cantrell, my son, Cole Sargent, was in Mrs. Cantrell's 5th grade class at Lexington Creek Elementary in Sugar Land. We just received word about about your precious daughter and family. Our hearts and prayers are with you. We would be happy to help if anyone needs a place to stay, a ride to anywhere, food, you name it and I will do what I can to make it happen. Charlie and Ali,
Being a part of John Ray's CORE Team more than three years ago, I met ya'll at a couple Steubenville weekends in passing. Since I left CORE, I battled cancer, and found myself questioning my faith. Since I had such a strong background, that was difficult for me. I've been following Cate's blog, and since have found myself praying as I never have, and finding solace in the strength and steadfastness of the Lord. Baby Cate is indeed working with Lord to move hearts everywhere. I've spoken with some of the Sisters at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and they and all the staff are now dressed in full battle gear of the Lord in the fight for Baby Cate. Candles are ablaze at Immaculate Conception Cathedral here in Lake Charles, and I pray that God continues to hold ya'll in the palm of His hand!! Our prayers will never cease!!!!!! Your sister in Christ,
Mandy Comeaux Hatman
Charlie, the prayers are still coming. I forwarded your blog address to even more FUS graduates today and just tried to get the word out there more! I put your names and of course Cates in our parish prayer book and told my son to pray harder! You see your hope, your journey is important to all of us out here, doing mundane things you wish you could be doing, your hope and your path is so important because it reminds us to stop and remember how powerful God is! Thanks again for sharing! I'll keep praying!
Teresa Clark
Dear Ali and Charlie,
Just wanted to share with you a little image the Lord was giving me in prayer this evening during my adoration time for the little one.
I kept hearing the Lord speak of protecting her heart. That above all else we have to continue to remain faithful in our prayers for protection-not just of her, but of her heart. Look at all the ways that her heart has reached the nation and around the globe...
I kept getting this image of the Lord opening up her chest and placing his sacred heart around hers as a protective covering sealing her in His divine love and that He was dropping off the keys to his heart all over the world...
Indeed this is what is upon us...
Many around the world are unlocking the mystery of God's love and rediscovering Him in their own hearts and lives!
As I prayed into the image more, I felt like we are to pray that Cate's feeble little heart be consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus THROUGH the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to continue to specifically ask for the intercession of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Then the Lord reminded me of this little quote by St. Therese of Lisieux
"Everything is grace, everything is the direct effect of our Father's love. Everything is grace because everything is God's gift.
Whatever be the character of life or its unexpected events -- to the heart that loves, all is well."
Love you all,
~*maureen
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26
I have been praying and thinking about Cate all day. (and will continue) We offered Mass for Cate and for your family today. I keep thinking about how as a parent I pray that Olivia will one day bring people to Christ. Baby Cate is 7 months old and bringing hundreds of people closer to our Lord. It is just amazing to think about. I read these blog entries and I am just blown away by the beauty of prayer, the beauty of hope and mostly of the way Christ is radiating from your beautiful daughter and her parents. Shine on Cantrell family. I love you all so much.
Hello, No you don't know me, either. I am friends of Judy Carnes, Bryan Carnes' mom. She told me about Cate, and I have passed the prayer request forward. There is an older lady in our group who should have died a long time ago-- but God has answered her prayers and seems to answer most she prays. She wants you to know Cate is taking breaths from God. I believe it. Trust the Lord. He is ever faithful. No matter what the doctors tell you, God is still in control! You are all in our prayers!

Hello, my name is Amy Young. Yesterday I just returned from Lifeteen Covecrest camp with my parish, St. Anthony's and over the course of the week I have really heard a lot about your story and the trials that God is blessing your life with. Talking with my friend Alex Willey and hearing prayers from Ben Walther, I've come to know that Cate has truly been going through a lot. I want to let you know that each and every day we were at that camp, a prayer petition was offered up for Baby Cate and Heaven is truly being flooded with cries from your brother's and sisters. I am inspired by your hope and self-surrender, and I will continue to pray for you and your family. May God have mercy and bless all of your hearts.
Just want you to know that Cate and your whole family are in my prayers... God is with you.
Ali & Charlie,
I felt a little lost tonight when praying for Cate, not knowing exactly how to word what it was that I wanted to pray to God for...
For some reason I began to think about St. Therese of Lisieux, whom I have always loved. In fact I like her so much that I chose Therese as my confirmation name back in 8th grade.
As I was praying and talking to Jesus I remembered how she became known as "Little Flower" because of her little ways and small daily sacrifices that brought her closer Jesus.
I realized that St. Therese was living proof that the tiniest things could make people's faith in God grow stronger. I then realized that Cate is, in her own way, our special "Little Flower." Though she is tiny and young, she is bringing people closer to the kingdom of God. She herself is growing closer to Jesus by the minute.
How beautiful it is that at a young 7 months old, Cate is already living like a saint and bringing people closer to God in her little ways!
From now on I'll offer all my prayers and dedications to Cate up to St. Therese of Lisieux.
After I saw the quote at the end of Maureen's comment, I felt I should share my prayer experience with you too. The quote fits perfectly--Cate IS grace and Cate is God's little gift to us. Though she is tiny, she has a big heart and a heart that loves--even throughout these unexpected events--and no matter what, all is well because God is present in Cate.
Many prayers continue now and in the days to come...love you guys!
Claire
On both Friday and Saturday evening, at Steubenville South, I offered up my loudest voice, my highest praise and my highest reach for Cate and your family.
As we sang, "Greater things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city. You’re the Light in this darkness, You’re the Hope to the hopeless, You’re the peace to the restless. There is no one like our God," I send my most fervent prayers and the most deepseated continued love.
All of the Steubenville on the Bayou 07 Young Apostles are praying for y'all!

A Prayer Warrior for Baby Cate
RISE AND SHINE AND GIVE GOD THE GLORY GLORY... I woke my daughters for VBS today singing this song and I immediately thought of Cate. These simple words are happening across the world because of her. Many are rising from their slumber and praying for the first time/attending church for the first time in years and many are renewing their faith in God. We are all shining in Christ's love as we witness to others about our faith in God and His healing powers. Isn't that what we are called to do, let our light shine for Christ for all to see. Give God the Glory, Glory...we do this in praying, each time we pray we are singing His praises and giving him Glory. I continue to hold Cate in my heart and prayers...I have faith that God is unwrapping a plan much larger than any of us can conceive. God be with you Charlie and Ali and may the Angels surround Cate today and sing "Rise and Shine" into her heart! JESUS I TRUST IN YOU!! YSIC, Melanie
Cate doesnt get out of my mind all day, and I pray that things go well today...I have sent prayer requests to several people, and I know Cate is getting TONS of prayers, as well as you and Ali, and your other children.

My daughter heard of your struggles from a friend and shared your story with me... I know we've never met but I wanted to let you know a family in Florida is praying for you and admires your strength and faith in God. May God's love bring baby Cate and your family the miracle you deserve.
With admiration, hope and prayers.
Charlie and Ali--I couldn't help but think of you guys at mass yesterday, the readings really spoke to me of Cate and the hope for her!
from the first reading: Jeremiah
But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion:
my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph.
In their failure they will be put to utter shame,
to lasting, unforgettable confusion.
O LORD of hosts, you who test the just,
who probe mind and heart,
let me witness the vengeance you take on them,
for to you I have entrusted my cause.
What we all pray together!!!
The responsorial psalm
Lord, in your great love, answer me!!!!
and from the Gospel
Even all the hairs of your head are counted.
So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows!
Brian and I said a rosary last night and also asked for the intercession of our Therese Marie for your dear Cate!
Thank you for the updates of Baby Cate. We have you constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Cate is on every prayer list that I could get my hands on. Our Loving Father loves to hear from us. He is holding you in the palm of His hand.
Charlie and Ali;
I loved Janie Eldridge's post. My prayer today "We Believe"
How are Ella and Dude doing? Love to all of you and your spriritual family too.
Thank you Jesus for this day.
Thank you for the healing of hearts, body, minds and souls that are taking place.
There are no words to describe the ache in a parent's heart when their precious, innocent child is suffering. It is at a time like this that we must remember the story of Abraham and his son Isaac, and how God tested Abraham's faith by ordering him to offer up Isaac - to sacrifice his son's life in obedience to God. Charlie and Ali, that is what you are being challenged to do. But unlike Abraham, who faced God alone on the mountain, your challenge is being felt around the world. As you agonize and pray for mercy for your child, thousands of prayful souls are uniting in a single purpose - pleading for Cate's life and complete recovery. I ask you to close your eyes, and picture yourself as Abraham, standing before the sacrificial altar, literally offering your precious child up to God, prepared to accept the will of God as you submit totally and unconditionally to His command. Imagine baby Cate being laid on the sacrificial altar of God, just as she lays on her bed in the ICU, and know that God will reward your faith and obedience, just as he rewarded Abraham.
I used this same "imagery" and the story of Abraham and Isaac during some incredibly dark times when my young daughter was undergoing cancer treatments 18 years ago. I never felt so alone as when I literally placed her on a hospital table or gurney, knowing that whatever procedure was to be performed could result in losing her forever. But I stood firm, thinking of Abraham, and trusted in God to give my child back to me. He did....time and time again. My precious child is now 28 years old and cancer free. I know how you feel. And I know how Abraham felt when he placed his own son Isaac on the altar. Somehow, the imagery helped me surrender completely to the will of God when I needed Him the most.....when it was so hard to "let go". You are living through the Old Testament - the trial of Abraham's faith in the offering of Isaac.
My prayer is that you are blessed with God's mercy through a positive change in Cate's condition TODAY. God's time is not our time, but I pray that your suffering be lessened through the intercession of St. Theresa, St. Jude, and our Holy Mother Mary. I pray that this day, you will know the peace that comes from God's mercy, and that Cate will become stronger and her little body will be infused with the Blood of Christ, to speed her recovery and return to your own arms.
With hope and trust and empathy for all that you are going through, I am yours in Christ.
Mary Lu Wilkerson (Tommy W's sister)
We are asked to live our heroic moment (the first moment we awake each day) and offer everything we have and everything we are to the Lord and to be used according to His will....today I lived my moment for Cate, as I lift a sigh of longing toward the Lord this day that He will work in and thru Cate this morning...that others would come to know Him and love Him from just from knowing Cate...
Ali and Charlie,
I was not able to make it to the prayer service in Rayne last night...but my mother told me how beautiful and moving the vigil was...and I gave thanks to our Lord! Baby Cate has changed so many lives and instilled hope in thousands of people across the nation...what a miracle she is!! Thank you so much for allowing us into your lives and getting to know such a beautiful and precious little girl! I pray contantly throughout the day for your strength and hope and for Cate's recovery!
Love,

You don't know me but I am fasting and praying for baby Cate and her family.
Baby Cate,
through your father’s loving blog, you have touched the hearts of so many. Over 50 years of being a “Good Catholic”, your extended family, is teaching me the power of prayers and to be a MUCH BETTER Catholic.
Let us all pray for a little baby girl who has touched the hearts and souls of some many people.
My children and I are still spending all of our time praying for your precious child.

Cantrell family-

"Be not afraid of tomorrow, for God is already there"
Cate and your family will continue to remain in our prayers.
I just wanted to let you, Ali and Baby Cate know that we are praying for all of you. I cannot seem to stop thinking about you and your family and all that you are going through.
Thoughts and prayers are with you,
Katie and Jamie Angelle
Ali and Charlie,
At the candlelight ceremony last night, there were frequent breezes over the depot making it difficult to keep flames burning. My thoughts at first were to do everything I could to keep my flame going. I held my hand different ways and I stood different ways. I finally realized that I just will let the breeze blow on my face and pray. May the breeze of the spirit blow over both of you today.
I love you, Alyssa
Sorry we missed the beautiful prayer service at the Depot Square in town last night, we had company. When they left, we noticed that it was time for the EWTN Rosary, AND the Depot Rosary, so we prayed the Rosary at home with the nuns especially for Cate to pull through.
God bless you all, Fred & Annette
We love you and are still praying for you all.
Betsy, Trey, and Fenton
Charlie and Ali,
The guy who prayed with you the other day from (Victoria Texas). Is his name Gerard Thibodeaux. His mom (Nelda) and my mother are very close friends and relative. If this is our Gerard, what a small world.
Ms. Jo
Charlie,
I felt the need to post on your blog b/c you mentioned the ramdomness of your visitor. How about this for random? I attended the Steubenville South conference this weekend with my 15 yr old daughter(Kelsey). From day one of the conference, there was mention made of you and your family and this continued until Sunday, we had moments of silence and prayed (all 3976 of us) for Cate, you and your family and I continue to pray for all of you today and every day here after.
Are you ready for the randomness part of it? When your name was first mentioned, a voice kept repeating your name in my mind, I kept saying wow that name sounds so familiar, why do I feel this way. It was not until Sunday that it hit me like a TON of bricks! I know you or at least knew you when you were growing up and I remembered what your childhood was like, and I want to say I am awestruck and proud that you have done so well with your life and that you have so much faith and that you speak to teenagers giving them a glimpse of hope in thier struggles. I am going to try to do that for you here. Know, believe, and be proud of what God has in mind for Cate, there has got to be some greatness for her from this regardless of the outcome, even though you and your family do not see it now. I will continue to pray for that greatness to be revealed to you as to ease your pain. I mean really, didn't greatness come from the sufferings of your childhood? If you don't believe it, I do! What a gift to be able to ease the pains of our suffering teens by giving them HOPE! I love you, Charlie and tell Ali that yet another mother's heart goes out to her, mine is the one that is sparking the most today in that "glorious" pin of hers. For now, I will leave my name unknown, I want to walk up to you at the next Steubenville South conference, when all has gone well for you and your family and give you a huge hug, then you will know who I am.
My Love, Prayers, and Unending Hope to all of you!
You don't know me, but I just stumbled across this blog on Acadiana Moms...I will be praying for baby Cate...my nephew had 2 open heart surgeries when he was a month old, so I will be praying for your precious baby girl...
I just wanted to let you know that more FUS alumni are lifting you and your little one up in prayer. My husband and I graduated in '89 & '90, so our paths wouldn't have crossed there - but in this amazingly interconnected world we have today, they cross here. I read about your blog on a Catholic homeschooling forum, and have been praying and anxiously checking for updates ever since. We are expecting our eighth little one, and so far all have been healthy, so I can only imagine the heartache and worry you guys must be bombarded with - be strong and courageous, and keep that hope alive!
I pray for your daughter every day.
Ali & Charlie,
We love you guys so much and will continue to pray for your precious family. Thank you so much for sharing sweet Baby cate with us. She is a beautiful blessing.
Love,
Shelley & Jason Pizzitola
