Pray Hard

Greetings from the TCH 17th Floor waiting room, its 6:22am I am sitting watching a huge sun rise of the city of Houston. Everyone elses life if beginning out there, there are more cars on the streets and more horns honking. It feels like everyone elses life is going on as normal and ours hangs in the balance. I don't have many words this morning I really just wanted to ask you to pray. I am sure you get tired of hearing me say that, but we are running out of chances. I woke up this morning saying, This is the Day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad and that is my Declaration of Hope this morning. They are going to attempt again to ween her off the machine around 8:00am, this will be one of the last chances from what I can tell. Please brothers and sisters in Christ pray just a little harder. Know that Ali and I love you and as soon as I hear something I will let you know.

Good Morning Ali and Charlie:

This morning as the sun rose to a beautiful Colorado morning, a stone got into my shoe. I offered it stay for the intentions of the Blessed Mother. Then I noticed there were tow stones, then three. I was like, okay Blessed Mother let's do it! I got home and had received a note from Kate barta and went to your blog. I know without a doubt the Blessed Mother will carry you all today. I will keep the stones in my shoe today for Baby Cate and for the two of you. Every patient, every bby I see or touch today at work (I'm an NP in L&D) I will offer prayers for your sweet baby't heart. I will pray the Lord will kiss every heart muscle and nerve fiber - that it will be made new in His perfection.
Blessings!

It's 7:25 here in Abbeville, Louisiana. Ashley and I are doing double-duty in praying for Cate. It is so great to see two parents with such faith in God. Cate, by her simple presence, is blessing so many of us, teaching us more and more about prayer and about ourselves.

Ash and I love the passage from Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare, not for woe! plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart,
you will find me with you, says the LORD, and I will change your lot."
Know that God is with you always and that He has a plan for you, Baby Cate, and all of us. May Christ send His Divine Mercy upon Cate and may His saints and angels come to her side.

With all our love,

Kip and Ashley Faulk

I just offered a prayer to Our Blessed Mother for all your intentions. Then I called my older children in (10, & 8)& showed them Cate's picture. I asked them to pray & offer sacrifices for her today. My mother in law always said, "God especially hears the prayers of the little children."

God Bless your beautiful family. I have just started reading about Baby Cate and have asked our prayer group to begin Mother Theresa's Emergency Novena for her.
The novena consists of nine Memorares in a row.

Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to thee O Virgin of Virgins my Mother, to thee I come, before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful, O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

God Bless you all!

As I lifted Baby cate up during Eucharist last night, I received a vision of Jesus taking Cate's heart into His mighty right hand. I sensed His omnipotent power to heal, provide and restore.

We will not leave you in prayer as the Lord will not leave you.

"But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and formed you, O Israel: I have called you by name: You are mine. When you pass through the water, I will be with you; in the rivers you shall not drown. When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned; the flames shall not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Is: 43:1-3a.

Charlie & Ali:
Although you do not know me (I comments one other time - I know of you through fellow heart patient little Hudson Carnes), I feel as if I know you and Cate through reading your messages posted here. Please know I continue to pray for Cate and you both. Reading your posts made me think of another amazing testimony to God and how through Him all circumstances can be used to further His kingdom and to bring more people into a saving relationship with Him. I hestitate to bring this up because it does involve the death of a child, but I wanted to share this amazing tribute with you in case you had not been aware of it because it is my deepest hope that it will ENCOURAGE you, not discourage you. A radio host in Alabama name Rick Burgess lost his young son in a drowning accident earlier this year. The eulogy he gave at his son's funeral is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. The amazing faith that he and his wife display -- even during such a tragedy -- reminds me of you and Ali. Just as Rick's words and actions have won many souls to Christ and have encouraged many Christians to deepen their walk with our Lord, your words on this blog have done that for me, and I'm sure for many others. Rick's son Bonner -- I am confident -- has saved more people's souls than many other Christians would live very long lives. If you wish, view the eulogy at http://www.rickandbubba.com/ which takes you to the radio show site, from which you can find a link to Bonner and the eulogy. Please know that your faith, your demonstrated reliance on God, even when the situation is something that cannot be understood, has already and can continue to be an amazing witness for our Lord. Cate -- through her circumstances -- is doing amazing things for God's kingdom puposes. Another example that comes to mind is Nick Vujicic. If you do not know of him, he is a young man who -- for no known reason -- was born without arms or legs. He has used his circumstances to establish the Life Without Limbs ministry, a truly amazing outreach to people from all walks of life around the world. His website is http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/. Again, I offer these hoping that they will be an encouragement to you and your wife. Keep the faith.

Yours in Christ,
Lori Baker

I was feeling so helpless in prayer this morning and then this was in my readings...When God inspires someone to pray, it is He transforming the one praying internally into more of Him,like an "empty vessel" that only He can fill...God replaces what is missing in us with His divinity. So the power of prayer is not in the one praying...but in the One who hears and answers...Lila

Ali,Charlie and Baby Cate,

You've never left my thoughts or prayers. My prayer support team continues to pray for Cate also.

Your faith was and is a great testimony to those in the CVICU waiting room. I know all to well what you are going thru. 12 years, ago, we were on the 3 week plan. You touched my life and I will continue to pray until Cate is healed!

My favorite verse while in the valley, is "Be strong and take courage. Do not fear or be dismayed. For the Lord you God will be with you."
Joshua 1:9
It's paraphrased because it's in a song I sing!

Love to your whole family!

Susan DeMerchant
PS: Dillon is doing well!
Also, Charlie, I don't really know you at all but I'll start to worry when your sense of humor is gone! Your blogs are amazing!
I was writing in my book to Dillon I also do this and they are kept in his many scrapbooks. Keep these many blogs you may want them someday! God will heal your emotional side over time too. I always wanted to remember how Good God was! Blessings to you, both your sweet parents.

Please don't think of anyone getting tired of you asking for prayer. Cate and your family have consumed all of my thoughts and prayers this week. It is a joy and a privilege to join such a loving and faithful family in prayer each day. I was up at 5 this morning, woke up with my middle child screaming from a bad dream. Rather than being groggy and going back to bed, I began praying for Cate and your family and resending prayer requests to my friends, family and groups. I will not tire of praying for her or for you and Ali. Praying as hard as I can today!

Heavenly Father,

I bow before you now and I ask you in the name of your precious Son our Lord Jesus Christ, that you will touch baby Cate with your Healing hands. I trust and I believe Lord that you will heal her right now and she will feel your power upon her.

Lord, we know that whatever we ask in your name, and we pray in faith, you always answer our prayers. So Lord, I trust that baby Cate is healed now in the name of Jesus.

Thank you Father, for sending your word to heal her, Cover her with your precious blood and infill her with your Holy Spirit.

Jesus you are the word who became flesh and dwelt among us. You bore our grief and carried our sorrows. Since the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to our mortal bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in us.

Father, thank you for your unconditional love.
Lord, I ask you now to watch over her and bless this beautiful baby and bless her family.
