Hurricane Gustav

Greetings to all! I am sending this message from my buddy's house. We all had to get the heck out of dodge due to Hurricane Gustav! I sent my family to Houston and I am about 30 miles north of my house. We have huge oak trees in front of our house and the hurricane is going to pass almost right over us. I just wanted to ask everyone to please pray for all of us here in Louisiana, for our saftey and that the damage that Gustav brings in minimal. The storm is coming through tomorrow around 8:00pm. As soon as the power is back up and we have assessed the damages I will let you all know how we are doing. Also, please pray for Dude, he had his tonsils out last Thursday and poor thing is not feeling well, spent 9 hours in the car yesterday, and got very little sleep. Thanks for all the prayers in advance and will update you again soon. Much Love, The Cantrells

Love you charlie...i thank God today for Gustav simply b/c it made us able to visit with your family! what joy when Ali held Gemma and they both had huge smiles. How the Lord can work through a child...a moment I will cherish always!! Dude was awesome and did well having to hang out with us girls, but he did wrestle a little with ben and enjoyed the back tree/playhouse that ben built...ella was super sweet and enjoyed playing dress up with the girls..i am impressed with how well she carries herself and stood up to hannah! way to go ella !!!! Praying for you guys and misseed seeing you, but so adored seeing your beautiful wife and adorable kiddos!! can't wait to see you all again!!!

Your family is covered in prayer.

I just came across this...

Jesus, Savior, pilot me
Over life's tempestuous sea
Unknown waves before me roll
Hiding rock and treacherous shoal
Chart and compass come from Thee
Jesus, Savior, pilot me

As a mother stills her child
You can hush the oceans wild
Boisterous waves obey Thy will
When You say to them, Be still
Wondrous Sovereign of the sea
Jesus, Savior, pilot me

When at last I near the shore
And the fearful breakers roar
Grant me and the peaceful rest
Then, while leaning on Your chest
May I hear You say to me
Fear not, I will pilot thee

love to you and yours

Hope your house fared okay with Gustav. You've all been in my prayers. I have Cate's prayer card on the wall beside my computer, and say a quick prayer for you when I look at it. It's actually beside a prayer you might like, "Prayer Before a Crucifix" by the Passionist Fathers:

"My Crucified Christ"
I adore the wounds in Thy Sacred Head
with sorrow deep and true.
May every thought of mine today
be an act of love for You.

I adore the wounds in Thy Sacred Hands
with sorrow deep and true.
May every work of my hands today
be an act of love for You.

I adore the wounds in Thy Sacred Feet
with sorrow deep and true.
May every step I take today
be an act of love for You.

I adore the wound in Thy Sacred Heart
with sorrow deep and true.
May every beat of my heart today
be an act of love for You.

I had an ultrasound today; we found out we were pregnant right around the time I started praying for Cate, and I was just sure it was finally a girl (we have 2 girls and 5 boys). I had even thought about naming it Catherine. Alas, God has chosen to bless us with yet another son instead. We're praising Him anyway, as the little one looks hearty and healthy so far (a concern since I'm diabetic). Asking Cate to watch over him, me, and especially all of you!
